kenmore-dryer-not-heating-up-but-tumbling

Kenmore dryer not heating up but tumbling.

Hello to all, I am having trouble with my kenmore dryer. It starts but it does not heat up. I have tried to search other posts to see what I should check. So here it goes. Just to let you know, I have no clue about dryer parts but I'm trying. Ok so here is what I checked. 1) I tried to make sure that all the lint was cleaned away. 2) I checked continuity at the thermal fuse. Seem to have continuity. 3) Next I checked to see if the ignitor glows. It does not glow Now I do not know what to do. Should I order a ignitor? My wife wants this fix ASAP. Thanks. Hello: RacerX Most likely the hot surface ignitor is burned out. Replacing the ignitor with a new part will solve that problem. I personally would drive over to any local appliance parts store and buy the replacement ignitor cover the counter in person. They will need the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts and problem resolving matters. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances. Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs. Always check for gas leaks whenever moving the appliance and/or a repair includes any connection of a gas part.
