Troubleshoot An Eljer Stratton Faucet

The Eljer Stratton faucet offers a convenient package that performs well. However, the product may need troubleshooting if certain problems arise. Leaking, poor handle performance and unsuitable sink drain operation are among the problems you might encounter with these faucets. A few troubleshooting steps should take care of these problems and return the faucet to working order. If problems persist, you may want to call in a professional before you decide to replace the faucet.

Instructions

1. Close the handle completely by pushing it down to the Off position if the handle drips. Push the handle to the On position and return it to the Off position several times in a row. Refrain from using too much force on the handle, as it only turns 90 degrees.

2. Repeat Step 1 to prevent the spout from dripping. If spout dripping persists, remove the handle by unscrewing the set screw in back with an Allen wrench, and remove the cap under the handle by turning it left by hand. Tighten the cartridge screws with a screwdriver to properly seat the cartridge in place. Test the faucet to see if dripping continues. If it does, remove the cartridge screws and replace the cartridge, as the problem exists inside the cartridge and can only be solved by replacing it.

3. Solve poor drain actuation problems if your sink won't stay full by removing the cable connector attached to the drain plug. Turn the cam --- a round part with a flat-head screw slot--- clockwise under the connector, using a small screwdriver.

4. Reconnect the cable connector by threading it back on. Operate the drain again and fill the sink by turning on the faucet. Adjust the cam part by repeating the procedure described in Step 3 until the sink stays full.
