Most people equate fast food restaurants with unhealthy food. It's true that many of the options at fast food restaurants aren't great for your body. Still, there are plenty of ways to get filled up at a fast food restaurant without putting junk into your body. Here is eat healthy at a fast food restaurant.

1. Order water when at a fast food restaurant. The sodas and the juices found at fast food restaurants are full of a large amount of sugar and calories. Even the diet sodas at fast food restaurants aren't really all that better for you. Water is always the best option as a fast food restaurant.


2. Avoid all of the fried foods found at fast food restaurants. Fries, chicken and fish products at fast food restaurants may be tasty but they're also the least healthy items you can eat. Instead, stick to those items that are grilled. Burgers and grilled chicken from a fast food restaurant aren't great for you but they're a better option than the fried foods.


3. Remember portion control when at a fast food restaurant. A value meal at a fast food restaurant is normally more food than what you should eat in one portion. Bring food home with you and finish your meal at a later time.


4. Order salads from fast food restaurants. Many fast food restaurants place fried chicken on their salads. Either ask for a salad without this or simply remove the pieces. Also, bring your own dressings. Salad dressings at fast food restaurants may have large amounts of fat, sugar, sodium and calories.


5. Avoid eating a sandwich that has cheese on it at a fast food restaurant. The processed cheeses found at fast food restaurants are very high in calories. Instead, simply eat your hamburger without any cheese. You can also load your sandwiches with healthy toppings, such as lettuce, tomatoes and onions.
