Dip Fruit In Chocolate

The combination of fruit and chocolate is very popular. It is a healthy way to satisfy a sweet craving and can be done quickly with minimal effort. Great for entertaining and holidays, fruit dipped in chocolate is a definite crowd pleaser.

Instructions

1. Select in season or favorite fruit. Strawberries are classic for dipping in chocolate, but bananas, melons and pineapples are just as delicious. Take into account any fruit allergies of guests if the treats are intended for a group.

2. Purchase specific fruit-dipping chocolate. This is usually found in the fruit section of grocery stores. It is best to use this dipping chocolate since it comes in its own cardboard bowl for heating and dipping and avoids melting messy chocolate chips or bars on the stovetop.

3. Line a baking sheet with wax paper. This allows the chocolate dipped fruit to cool without sticking to the pan. Heat chocolate in microwave according to directions.

4. Hold strawberries by the stem and dip them into warmed chocolate. Slice the bananas in half or into chunks and cut melons and pineapples into bite sized pieces. Hold the piece with fingers or a fork and dip it into the warmed chocolate. Place it on wax paper to cool and dry. Repeat with all the fruit pieces.

5. Refrigerate or leave them on the countertop to cool at room temperature. Chocolate will harden on the fruit, allowing for easy storage.
