Use A West Bend Coffee Maker

West Bend manufactures several different coffee makers.

Coffee makers are kitchen appliances that brew coffee without the need for another container to boil water. Although manufacturers use different philosophies when developing coffee makers, a few design concepts remain the same. Ground coffee is placed into a filter above a glass container. Cold water is placed inside the coffee maker, which promptly beings it to a boil. The boiling water is poured over the ground coffee, creating the drink. West Bend is a manufacturer of several popular coffee makers. Follow their recommended instructions in order to make a great brew of coffee.

Instructions

1. Prepare the coffee maker before using it for the first time. With the coffee maker unplugged, wash the basket, glass container and cover in warm, soapy water and a dishcloth. Fill the inside of the coffee maker with warm water and wash with a dishcloth as well. Rinse and dry all compartments of the coffee maker and place it on a dry, heat-resistant level surface.

2. Fill the coffee maker with cold water to the desired cup level. Place the glass container onto the heating unit at the bottom of the coffee maker. Insert the basket back into its compartment above the container.

3. Insert ground coffee into the basket with a measurement cup. Scoop out the required amount of coffee, and place it into the open basket. Adjust your measurement of ground coffee depending on the amount of water that is in the coffee maker.

4. Place the cover on the coffee maker, and turn it to lock into place inside the handle slots. The arrows on the cover will match the arrows on the coffee maker to signify correct placement.

5. Begin brewing coffee. Plug the cord into a nearby electrical outlet. Flip the "ON" switch to begin brewing coffee. Allow several minutes to allow the coffee to brew. When the coffee is ready, the light on the base of the maker will glow. Remove the glass container from the coffee maker and pour into heat-resistance cups.
