Use A Pedrini Herb Mincer

Add fresh herbs to your favorite dishes.

Using fresh herbs in your culinary creations adds flavor and aesthetic appeal. You can cut the herbs with a knife, but if it is not done properly, you can get mushy herbs instead of finely chopped ones. A food processor can also do some mincing but if you don't get the timing and speed right you herbs will be a big mess. The Pedrini herb mincer is specifically designed to roll over herbs to mince them without resulting in a soggy pile.

Instructions

1. Place a cutting board on a flat, sturdy surface. Wash your herbs with cool water to remove dirt and debris. Pat herbs dry with paper towels. Put a small amount of your herbs on the cutting board.

2. Hold one end of the herbs with the fingers of one hand while you grab the Pedrini herb mincer with the other hand. With the round blades of the mincer pointing down and the front blade pointing up, lower it to the herbs. Starting from one side, use medium pressure to roll the blades across the herbs. This will produce strips of herbs.

3. Mince the herb from different directions to cut the herb into smaller pieces. The wide front blade of the Pedrini can be used to scoop the herbs into a pile.

4. Wash the Pedrini mincer as soon as you are done using it. Run it under warm water to make sure that the herbs do not get a chance to get stuck and dry on or around the blades. If you don't have time to thoroughly wash the device immediately after using it, place it in a bowl of warm water and allow it to soak.
