Diet Salads For Breakfast

Half of the battle in weight loss is won or lost when you're making your food choices. Placing yourself in situations where you're likely to cheat on your diet is self-sabotage, which can prevent you from reaching your fitness goals. By ensuring that you have an ample supply of healthy foods available in your home, however, you can make following a diet not only simple but enjoyable. Preparing a quick diet salad for breakfast the night before can help you leave the house in the morning one step closer to your ideal physique.

Apple-and-Spinach Salad

Prepare yourself a healthy apple and spinach salad to start your day off right, providing your body with plenty of vitamins and nutrients to ensure that you have constant energy levels throughout the morning.

To prepare an apple-and-spinach salad, you'll need orange juice, lime juice, honey, dijon mustard, a bag of spinach, 1 large apple, 1 red onion and blue cheese. Simply combine 2 tbsp. orange juice with 2 tbsp. lime juice, 2 tsp. honey and 2 tsp. dijon mustard in a small bowl, stirring them until they're completely mixed. Empty the bag of spinach into a bowl. Core the apple, slicing it into pieces as thin as possible before mixing it in with the spinach. Slice and add in the onion before pouring the dressing over the apple-and-spinach salad evenly, mixing it with a salad fork to ensure that the dressing is consistently applied. Grate the blue cheese and sprinkle it liberally over the top of the salad to provide the dish with additional flavor. You can save the salad in the refrigerator and enjoy a quick bowl or two before leaving in the morning.

Grilled Chicken Salad

Prepare a grilled chicken salad to give yourself a healthy, protein-packed start to your morning. Grill 2 4-oz. chicken breasts in a bit of olive oil until they're well cooked. After they're done, slice the chicken into thin strips, placing them off to the side for a moment. Empty a bag or two of fresh lettuce into a bowl, adding in a cup or two of cherry tomatoes and sliced cucumbers and a handful or two of spinach. Mix the chicken strips into your salad and sprinkle balsamic dressing over the top of the bowl, stirring as you pour to evenly distribute the dressing. Finally, hard-boil 3 or 4 eggs in a pan (place the eggs in a pot of water, boil the water, then turn the heat to low and cover the pan for 10 to 15 minutes). Peel off the eggshells when the eggs are done and slice them, placing the hard-boiled egg slices on top of your salad as a healthy garnish for your morning breakfast.
