Marinate Steaks With Wine

Marinade for at least one hour before cooking.

Wine alone is an effective marinade for steaks, but you can also combine it with other spices and ingredients to make a unique wine-based marinade. The marinade will mix with the natural juices of the meat and cook into the meat on the grill or in the oven. Wine is commonly used for cooking; you can purchase cooking wine to avoid using your drinking supply. The alcohol in wine helps to tenderize the meat, and your cooked steak will have a wine flavor.

Instructions

1. Purchase a bottle of red cooking wine and several large freezer bags. Red wine is more appropriate for red meat than white wine.

2. Pour 1 cup of wine per steak in a freezer bag. Add other ingredients like garlic, salt and steak sauce. Seal the bag and shake to mix all of the ingredients.

3. Open the bag and place the steaks in the marinade. Shake the bag to mix up the marinade and work it into the steaks.

4. Place the bag in the refrigerator for at least one hour. Remove the steaks from the marinade and place on the grill or in the oven.
