Fruit To Yogurt

Yogurt and fruit are both components of a healthy diet.

The USDA recommends consuming 2 or 3 servings of dairy products each day. Yogurt has become a popular, healthy, not to mention tasty way for people to consume a portion of their recommended daily dairy requirement. Fruit is also an essential part of a healthy diet. Mix them together to create a healthy, delicious snack, dessert or side dish.

Instructions

1. Buy your desired flavor of yogurt. Depending on your specific tastes, certain fruits will taste better in certain flavors of yogurt. A vanilla-flavored yogurt is commonly used as a base, because it has a light flavor that mixes well with most fruits. For a more adventurous taste, try flavors such as coconut creme and key lime pie.

2. Buy your choice of fruit. Strawberries and bananas are most commonly added to yogurt, but others -- such as kiwis, peaches, pineapples and berries -- also add great flavors and texture.

3. Prepare the fruit. If needed, wash and skin the fruit. With a knife, cut or chop the fruit into pieces of the desired size.

4. Pour the yogurt into a serving bowl. Add the fruit. Lightly stir the fruit and yogurt together to evenly distribute the fruit throughout the yogurt.
