Make A Chicken Alfredo Pizza

Pizza first appeared in the northern regions of Italy. At the beginning of the 20th century, it found its way to the United States. During recent years, the pizza that contains a tomato-based sauce with various meat and vegetable toppings and a layer of cheese has seen a new type of pizza emerge. Chicken Alfredo pizza is an example of this departure from the norm.


Instructions








1. Prepare the dough for the pizza crust by hand. The best pizzas are the ones that are hand tossed and prepared by hand. Lightly prick the crust at various points around the pizza to prevent air bubbles from forming.


2. Prepare an alfredo sauce from your favorite recipe. Make enough to spread a thin layer across the top side of the crust. Make sure the sauce reaches to within an inch of the edge.


3. Spread a thin layer of grated mozzarella cheese around on top of the sauce before topping with the other ingredients. Don't make this layer too thick, you want just enough to form a base for the other ingredients to be held in place after melting.


4. Cut the chicken into cubes a 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch in size. Spread these over the crust, making sure you have an even distribution on every part of the pizza. Add additional flavor to the pizza by using charbroiled chicken breast. This will impart a smoky flavor to the final pizza.


5. Layer a final layer of cheese over the top of the finished pizza before placing into the oven. Watch the pizza carefully as it cooks and pop any large air bubbles that appear in the crust as it bakes.
