Eating healthy and understanding the types of food you ingest into your body will help you maintain a healthy lifestyle full of energy and vitality. Eating properly can also have anti-aging effects to help you stay younger looking. Various foods have intrinsic health properties that help compensate for certain nutritional deficiencies if you have been diagnosed with a particular medical condition. Increasing the daily intake of these types of foods can help you to fight the condition and maintain your body's optimal nutritional status.

In this article I will show you make a spinach, apple and walnut salad with ingredients that have shown to help fight depression, chronic fatigue and many other conditions prevalent in our society.

Instructions

1. Take a couple of golden delicious apples or organic apples purchased from the local farmers market. Core and cut the apples into large diced pieces. Retain the skin of the apple since it contains many healthy properties including a source of fiber to help digestion.

2. Wash the baby green spinach in cool running water to remove dirt and pesticides and other potentially carcinogenic or toxic residues. Prepare the spinach by removing the long stems and bruised leaves. Lightly pat dry the washed clean spinach and place in the fridge to keep cool.

3. Toss the chopped apple pieces into a bowl of freshly squeezed lemon juice. This will help to prevent the apples from turning yellow. Make the dressing by whisking together the remaining juice, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt and ground pepper to taste.

4. Remove the spinach from the fridge and toss it with the apples and dressing. Divide between four bowls. Cut up the goat cheese (feta cheese) and chop up the toasted almonds. Toss equal amounts of cheese and almonds over each bowl of spinach and apple.
