An used section of any cabinet can house do-it-yourself diagional wine shelves.
Do you have an unused, square-shaped cabinet -- or section of a cabinet -- in your kitchen or dining room? Are you looking for a spot to store those extra wine bottles? Maybe you are just need an evening project. Whatever the reason you choose to make diagonal wine shelves, you will find it a simple, inexpensive task. With just a couple of boards and some paint, you can turn an unused cabinet into a functional wine rack. Not long after you start, you'll find yourself with a glass in hand, enjoying one of those bottles of wine!
Instructions
1. Measure the cabinet's depth -- available space between shelves, or between cabinet top and bottom -- as well as the diagonal length from corner to corner.
2. Cut the 1 by 12 board into two equal lengths that will fit the available space diagonally.
3. In the middle of the long side of the board, cut a notch 1 inch wide and as deep as half the board's width. Do so on each board.
4. Place the notches into one another, making an X shape from the two pieces of board.
5. Paint or stain the boards a matching or coordinating color.
6. Slide your new diagonal wine holder into the cabinet.
