Grill Pizza

Pizza is good in an oven. It is better in a brick oven and even better on the grill. Grilling pizza can be done during a blizzard when the electricity goes out or in the middle of the summer when it is too hot to cook in the house and heat it up.

Instructions

1. Prepare the grill. Heat the grill to a high temperature. This will depend on your grill and whether it is gas or charcoal. Let the grill warm up for 30 minutes.

2. Clean the grill of any leftover food. Have a workspace available to remove the pizza while adding the toppings to reduce excessive cooking of the dough.

3. Use a pizza grilling stone as one of two ways to grill a pizza. Heat the grill as in step one. Heat the stone as well. Add lots cornmeal and then the pizza dough to the stone. Cook each side of the pizza dough. Flip the pizza dough and add the toppings. Finish grilling until the top and bottom are the perfect doneness.

4. Cook directly on the grill. Brush the grill grate with a generous amount of garlic flavored olive oil. Lay the pizza dough on the grill and cook each side of the dough. Lower the grill temperature and place the toppings on the pizza. Close the lid and finish grilling.
