Make Teriyaki Sauce For Stir Fry

Teriyaki sauce is made of soy sauce, sugar and mirin or sake.

Make your own Japanese food with teriyaki sauce from scratch and save money on buying pre-made items. The sauce, which is generally used to marinade food, can even be used as a dip. Add your homemade teriyaki sauce to stir fries or brush it on meat for a distinct flavor. Teriyaki sauce can be made with varying different ingredients to create a nuanced flavor, but there are some basic components that most cooks use.

Instructions

1. Put all of your ingredients in a pan and turn the stove on low or medium heat. Different recipes use different ratios for each ingredient, however, No Recipes suggests using equal amounts of each and sweetening the mixture with honey instead of sugar.

2. Simmer the sauce for about five minutes. The sauce should be left on the heat until it is thick.

3. Take the pan off the heat and add the sauce to a stir fry. You can also let the sauce cool and use it later on.
