Appetizers are a great addition to any meal, especially when you have a lot of guests over. In some cases several different appetizers may be in order. If you are throwing a large party then you may want to think about one or two special appetizers and a handful of regular appetizers; this can help both on finances and cooking space.
The main course
The main course needs to be taken into consideration when deciding what appetizers to make. Typically you do not want to serve flank steak pinwheels and crab cakes when the main course is barbecued ribs. A little bit of planning ahead of time can go a long way when coordinating the right main course with the perfect appetizer.

Asparagus in Blankets - This is a healthier option to the classic pigs in a blanket. The nice thing about this appetizer is that it can be served with just about anything.
