Barbecue Shrimp

Low-cal never tasted so good


Shrimp is great finger food and makes an even better entree. It is easy to barbecue shrimp and add some spice to a meal. This recipe is low in fat and calories. Choose to either barbecue shrimp on a grill or in the oven.


Instructions


Barbecue on the Grill


1. Melt the butter on the stove.


2. Chop the garlic and onion.


3. Mix butter, garlic, onion and remaining spices in a bowl. Blend well.


4. Remove the shells from the shrimp. Wash the shrimp in cool water.


5. Place the shrimp in the bowl with the spices.


6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.


7. Light the grill after the 2 hour marinade.


8. Skewer the shrimp on bamboo sticks.


9. Lay the skewers on the grill and cook 6 to 7 minutes on each side.


Barbecue in the Oven


10. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.


11. Place the shrimp in 9" x 13" inch pan.


12. Chop the garlic and onion and then place it in the pan with the shrimp.


13. Sprinkle the spices and bay leaves over the shrimp.








14. Add the olive oil and butter on top of the mixture.


15. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and place in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
