Appetizers are a major part of the Thanksgiving meal. Appetizers are served while guests arrive, during relaxing and enjoying the parades or football, and while dinner is preparing. Kids may not enjoy the same appetizers the adults are having, so consider creating fun appetizer options for them. Make certain the food is kid-friendly and something they will enjoy.
Mini Pizzas
If the kids attending Thanksgiving are picky eaters, consider making an appetizer of a food most kids enjoy. Mini pizzas are a perfect appetizer option for kids on Thanksgiving as it provides them with something they enjoy. Make the mini pizza specific to how each child likes them. Some kids may want only a plain cheese mini pizza while more adventurous eaters may want mushrooms on their mini pizza. Just because it is Thanksgiving does not mean pizza cannot be involved.
Mini Hot Dogs
Mini hot dogs are another appetizer option for kids. Take little hot dogs and wrap them in crescent rolls for a tasty treat similar to a hot dog. Most kids enjoy peanut butter and you can take that love of peanut butter and turn it into a dip. Take peanut butter, cream cheese, brown sugar and milk and combine it into a delicious dip for the kids. Serve the peanut butter dip with apple slices and graham crackers for a sweet treat.
