Make Escargot With Havarti Cheese

Escargot with Havarti cheese makes an elegant appetizer.

Serve baked escargot, or snails, topped with melted cheese as a gourmet party appetizer. Make the cheesy escargot dish for special events such as holiday gatherings, romantic Valentine's Day dinners, wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations. The appetizer is simple to make but will go a long way toward impressing your guests. Escargot topped with creamy Havarti cheese will rival the appetizers served at fine dining establishments, and you'll be able to customize the flavor with dried herbs.

Instructions

1. Drain 1 7-oz. can of large escargot over a sink. Place the escargot in a small baking dish or in several specialized escargot dishes. Pour 2 tbsp. of melted butter over the escargot. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Mince 2 cloves of garlic and sprinkle them over the top of the escargot. Sprinkle 1/8 tsp. of ground black pepper and 1/4 tsp. of dried tarragon over the escargot.

3. Top the escargot with 8 oz. of shredded Havarti cheese.

4. Bake the escargot in an oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
