Indian Restaurants In Toronto

Toronto's large Indian population makes finding Indian cuisine easy.


According to the Little India website, nearly a million Indians live in Canada, with about half of them concentrated in the Toronto metro area, constituting 10 percent of the population and making up the city's largest minority group. Thanks to the high numbers of Indian people in Toronto, when you have a craving for Indian food, you don't have to go very far. A variety of restaurants serve spicy delicacies via buffets and detailed menus. When in Toronto, you'll have your pick from vindaloo, aloo, naan and korma.


Little India Restaurant


The Little India Restaurant serves a buffet and a la carte dinner menu daily. Start off with an appetizer such as samosa, mutton rolls, onion bhajia or cocktail sheekh kebab or traditional Indian bread (rotti, aloo paratha, naan). Entrees include prawn tandoori, reshmi kebab, tandoori chicken, rogan josh, lamb saag, beef vindaloo, shrimp jalfrezi and chicken korma. Vegetarian diners will find options such as palak pancer, eggplant bharta, malai kofta and bhindi masala. Biryanis and Indian desserts such as rasmalai, gulab jamun and almond kufti are available. Biryani House


The Biryani House serves a daily lunch buffet and an a la carte dinner (a tasting menu is also available for dinner) with a focus on Dum Pukht cusine. When choosing off the menu, begin your meal with a mulligatawny soup or appetizers such as narangi salad, dahi samosa and aloo papri. Curries include murgh khas avadh, chicken lababdar, sultaani chaap and bhuna gosht. Vegetarians will find a selection including channa masala, punj rattani daal, cauliflower with masala hashbrown and paneer makhani. Entrees also include mango ribs, lamb mussalam, chicken tikka and murg tandoori. The Biryani House serves wine by the glass, beer, liquors, Indian tea and cocktails. Casual attire.

Banjara Indian Cuisine


Banjara Indian Cuisine encourages diners to "have a sweet time" at its daily lunch buffet and a la carte menu dinner. Begin with an appetizer or meat samosa, chicken pakora, onion bhajia or mushroom soup, or try a salad (khira raita, kachumber, chicken chat). Spice enthusiasts may wish to try the tandoori specialties such as paneer tikka, tandoori chicken, prawn or cauliflower.
