Troubleshoot A Commercial Popcorn Machine

Commercial Popcorn machines are great money makers for sporting events, festivals and fairs. The smell of freshly popped popcorn motivates passersby to buy a bag of popcorn. A commercial popcorn machine requires regular maintenance and occasional minor repairs.

Instructions

1. Start troubleshooting a commercial popcorn machine by examining the electrical connections for loose wires and bent connectors. A commercial grade popcorn machine is rugged, but improper cleaning techniques can loosen electrical wiring.

2. Check the popcorn machine's master switch, kettle switch and light switch. The switches may be worn and should be replaced.

3. Examine the unit's power supply. Commercial popcorn machines use the same amount of amperage as an air conditioner or refrigerator.

4. Test the machine's stirrer motor. If the motor is not functioning properly, it should be replaced.

5. Clean the popcorn machine thoroughly. Use the manufacturer's recommended cleaning method. Heavily carbonized kettles can be cleaned with special stainless-steel cleaning agents.
