Jello Fruit Salad Recipe

Jell-o is one of the ingredients you will need

Picnics are a great way for family members to get together and eat delicious food. Since there are people already bringing chicken, hamburgers and potato salad, you have to think of an original dish to bring. A Jell-o fruit salad is a great dish to bring to these sort of occasions. Preparing it only takes five steps. Go to your local grocery store and buy Jell-o and the other ingredients listed below.

Instructions

1. Place your oranges and pineapple in the refrigerator for a minimum of 12 hours. Make your whipped topping mix ahead of time, too, and let it chill.

2. Open the can of mandarin oranges and cut each segment in half. Drain the juices from the oranges and pineapple completely. Save the liquid from the fruit to use later.

3. Use a strainer to drain the liquid from the cottage cheese.

4. Warm up 2 cups of water and pour it in a big bowl. Mix in the Jell-o mix and the cold liquid from the fruit. Put it into the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 hours.

5. Remove the mixture from the refrigerator and mix in the other ingredients. First add the fruit and then the mini marshmallows and the whipped topping mix. Let it sit for a while and then add the cottage cheese. Let it sit overnight.
