Freeze Muffins

Freeze your extra muffins for up to three months.

Ending up with an abundance of muffins can be quite easy. Maybe you made too many (accidentally or intentionally); maybe you have generous friends who know your love for these fluffy treats; maybe the bargain bin of day-old muffins at your favorite bakery was just too tempting. Don't worry about trying to eat them all before they become stale or moldy. Muffins are easy to freeze, and you can keep them for up to three months in the freezer before their quality declines.

Instructions

1. Allow your muffins to cool to room temperature or below if they are still warm from the oven. You can accelerate this process by placing them into your refrigerator.

2. Wrap each muffin individually in heavy foil. Do not leave any cracks or gaps in the foil, and wrap each muffin as tightly as possible without crumbling or breaking it.

3. Place the individually wrapped muffins into a large resealable freezer bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible, then seal the bag tightly and place it into your freezer.

4. Use your frozen muffins within 3 months. They will still be good after this period, but their quality will diminish noticeably.
