Make Cakeshaped Soaps

Soaps don't always have to come in bar form. In fact, using molds you can create a myriad of decorative shapes to make soaps as creatively as you want. For example, knowing make cake-shaped soap prepares you for making intricate gift soaps for decor and use. Whether you're making them for your own needs or as a birthday gift, your homemade cake-shaped soaps will be a hit.

Instructions

1. Add the cup of MP soap base to the glass bowl, saving about a tbsp. of the soap base aside for later. MP stands for "melt and pour" and is found in craft and hobby supply shops or online.

2. Microwave the bowl for one minute to melt the soap.

3. Spray the bundt cake pan with a thin layer of nonstick cooking spray. This lubricates the cake pan. Pour the melted base into the cake pan and then add the saved tbsp. of soap to the bowl.

4. Set the cake pan containing the soap in your freezer for 45 minutes. Remove it and pop it from the cake tin. This results in a cake-shaped soap. Place it back in the pan, but with the shaped end pointing upward, as opposed to the flat bottom.

5. Microwave the bowl of leftover soap until it melts again, for about 40 seconds. Stir in the soap colorant of your choice. Drizzle this colored soap over the top of the "cake." this makes it look like icing. Let it cool in the freezer for another 10 minutes.
