Heat Focaccia Bread In The Oven

Focaccia originated in Italy.

Focaccia is an Italian flat bread. It is oven-baked, has a fairly dense structure (rather like a deep-pan pizza base) and can be served with a variety of additions, from olives baked into the bread to rosemary sprinkled on the top. In has become available all over the world. There are two ways to heat focaccia, depending on the state of the bread; either made from scratch or pre-cooked and purchased. The difference lies in the temperature of the oven and the timing.

Instructions

Pre-Baked Bread

1. Purchase your focaccia bread from the grocery store or local bakery.

2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

3. Bake the bread for five minutes. Serve immediately.

Bread From Scratch

4. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F.

5. Make your focaccia bread, following your chosen recipe.

6. Bake the bread in the oven for 10 minutes, then turn the temperature down to 450 degrees F and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. The bread is done when it is firm but springy to the touch.

7. Remove the bread from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool. Serve it warm.
