Make Fondue Frosting For Dummies

Fondue frosting is great for groups with a sweet tooth.

Fondue dates back to 18th century Switzerland when stale cheese was heated and spread over hard bread to mask the unappetizing taste of both foods. Since then, fondue has become a treat to be savored in communal fashion around the fondue pot. For those with a sweet tooth, fondue frosting is a great alternative to traditional fondue, and is just as simple to make, even for those who consider themselves beginners in the kitchen.

Instructions

1. Mix 1/3 cup of orange juice with two tablespoons of light corn syrup.

2. Whisk three cups of powdered sugar into the liquid mixture. Gradually whisk until the mixture has a smooth, thick consistency without any lumps.

3. Add more powdered sugar or orange juice to alter the consistency of the fondue frosting as desired.

4. Add one drop of yellow food coloring to the fondue frosting. This will give the fondue a yellow color that resembles a traditional cheese fondue.

5. Pour the frosting into a fondue pot. It does not need to be heated as the fondue is already at the appropriate consistency.
