Make Dill Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a tradition around the holidays.


Mashed potatoes are a favored side dish all over the country, and pair well with meat entrees. If you want to impress your family or dinner guests, try spicing up plain mashed potatoes with a little dill. This simple recipe is sure to add a sweet kick to your mashed potatoes.


Instructions


Cooking Potatoes








1. Peel potatoes and wash them.








2. Chop potatoes into 1-inch pieces.


3. Fill the saucepan with water and add potatoes and a dash of salt.


4. Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once it begins to boil, turn the heat down to simmer.


5. Allow the potatoes to boil for 10 minutes or until tender enough to cut with a fork.


6. Drain the water from the pan and pour the potatoes into a large mixing bowl.


Mashing and Seasoning


7. Mash the potatoes with a hand masher until they are free of lumps.


8. Stir in low fat milk, buttermilk and dill and mix thoroughly.


9. Serve immediately with salt, pepper and butter.
