List Of Protein Snacks

Peanuts are a quick, easy and high-protein snack.


There are at least 10,000 proteins that make up our skin, bones, hair and muscle. Our bodies need protein to grow and repair muscle, and build the immune system. Protein is an essential part of a healthy diet.


Chicken, beef and beans are just a few high-protein foods, but are not the most convenient travel or snack foods. Fortunately, there are other sources of protein that can easily be carried and consumed at work or on the go.


Nuts


Nuts are a great source of protein and fiber. Peanuts, almonds, walnuts and cashews are a few examples of good nuts for snacking. Nuts are high in fat, however, so be careful with portion sizes.


Cheese








Cheese is high in protein and can be a quick and portable snack. Choose a low-fat hard cheese, like a mozzarella string cheese or a slice of cheddar. Cottage cheese is also an excellent protein source. Half a cup of cottage cheese contains as much as 14 grams of protein.


Greek Yogurt


Greek yogurt is thicker than regular yogurt and contains less sugar and twice the protein. Add fruit or honey if you're not going for a completely protein-based snack.


Hard Boiled Eggs


A hard boiled egg is an inexpensive, convenient snack and a key protein source. If you want to reduce your cholesterol intake, you can remove the yolk and still get plenty of protein from the egg white. According to the American Heart Association, healthy adults can safely eat one egg a day.
