Pick out a pickle at the convenience store.
Eating low-carb can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you are on the go and not able to prepare your own meals. When you're on a road trip or have to make it to an important meeting, you may need to stop at a convenience store to eat. Although such stores are filled to the brim with carbs, you can find low-carb options to satisfy your hunger.
Instructions
1. So you're stuck eating at a convenience store for a meal? Head to the refrigerated deli section for your main course. Lunchables aren't just a kid's paper-bag staple -- they're your new best friend. Toss the crackers and you have yourself a makeshift meat-and-cheese spread. Choose a lean-meat Lunchable such as turkey. Grab a packet of deli mustard if there's one lying around.
2. Grab a microwavable egg sandwich if it's breakfast time. Pop it in the store's microwave, zap, and then remove the biscuit bun. An instant low-carb sausage-and-egg treat is now ready for you to enjoy.
3. Avoid the chip aisle and find nuts. Nuts are low-carb staples, so grab a bag of peanuts, almonds or cashews and enjoy without wasting carbs. If you do find yourself in the chip aisle, reach for pork rinds.
4. Find cheese sticks in the refrigerated section. Perfect treats for those watching carbs, these delicious sticks also pack limited calories as well. Grab one of these as a great addition to your low-carb meal.
5. Pick out a jar of pickles. Most convenience stores carry the fermented, crisp treat.
6. If you are still craving more meat, head over to the beef jerky department. All convenience stores are sure to have a selection of beef jerky sticks, including beef and cheese combinations.
7. Need a drink to wash down your carb-less meal? There are plenty of options to choose from here. Water, of course, is a staple. Also, diet sodas carry no carbs as well. Stay away from juices and other artificial beverages if you are avoiding carbs.
