Chutney Varieties

Chutneys are full of a variety of flavors


Chutney, a condiment that originated in India, is served around the world today with American, Eastern and European cuisine. Chutneys are made using fruits, spices, herbs and vegetables and compliment the flavor of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The process of making most homemade chutney includes gently browning onions and boiling the other ingredients before simmering the chutney to the right texture. A single dish can produce many flavors when a variety of chutneys are used.


Avocado Chutney


Avocado chutney contains vitamins B, B6, C, E, K, iron, folate, niacin and pantothenic acid and is also rich in antioxidants, fiber and minerals. Ingredients used to make fresh avocado chutney include garlic, fresh green chillies, mustard, oil, onions, salt and tamarind.


Celery Chutney

Coconut Chutney

Cranberry Chutney


Cranberry chutney contains vitamins that include vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, E, K, folate, niacin and pantothenic acid. Ingredients used to make cranberry chutney include cranberries, cilantro, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, garlic, oil, salt and sugar.


Fresh Fruit Chutney


This particular variety of fresh fruit chutney is sweet and spicy because it is made with fruits, sugar and chillies. The main ingredients for fresh fruit chutney are blueberries, cherries, nectarines and dried mixed fruit. Minced garlic, oil, chopped onions, sugar, vinegar, water, chili peppers, crushed red pepper and salt are also used. Ginger Chutney

Green Chutney

Mint Chutney


Mint chutney is also known as Pudhina Chutney.
