Make Homemade Cinnamonraisin French Toast

Whether you're looking for a way to spice up your weekend breakfast or want a warm late night snack, cinnamon raisin French toast fits the bill. French toast is also a great use for day-old or stale bread. This recipe makes eight slices (4 servings) of fluffy French toast with a lightly crisp outer crust. For extra flavor, try making it with raisin bread. Serve with maple syrup or lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar and cinnamon.

Instructions

1. Beat the eggs, half-and-half and cinnamon until thoroughly mixed.

2. Heat half of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. While the butter is heating, dip four slices of bread in the egg mixture to coat both sides.

3. Drop four or five raisins into each quarter of the skillet. Place the bread slices on top to cover the raisins. Sprinkle a few more raisins on top of the bread. Fry the bread in the skillet until browned on both sides.

4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 with the remaining half of the butter and four slices of bread.

5. Dust with confectioner's sugar if desired and serve immediately.
