Pepper jelly
is the perfect condiment for a variety of different meals.
Pepper jelly is literally a jelly that is made out of different kinds of peppers. This spicy jelly can have several different uses in the kitchen. It can be used as an appetizer, for lunch and even for dinner as part of a main course. Pepper jelly is for anyone who loves a little extra kick of heat and flavor on their food. You can find this special jelly at your local grocery store (typically with the hot sauce, rather than with the jellies), or you can learn to make it at home.
Instructions
1. Add pepper jelly to cream cheese. Spread 2 Tbsp. of pepper jelly on top of an 8 oz. brink of cream cheese. Eat this quick and easy "dip" with crackers. You can also melt the cream cheese, pepper jelly and queso cheese dip together to create a new and tasty appetizer.
2. Spread pepper jelly on a sandwich. Apply just 1 tsp. of the pepper jelly directly to the bread of a roast beef or turkey sandwich. The extra bit of heat and flavor will complement the lunch meat so that it won't even need mustard.
3. Melt pepper jelly to use in a main course. Melt 6 Tbsp. of pepper jelly in a sauce pan until it is more of a liquid. Pour the jelly on top of a thawed steak, pork chops or ribs and let marinate. Grill the meat and brush any leftover jelly onto the meat as it cooks.
