Homemade Soy Chips

Soy chips are a healthy alternative to potato chips.


Many snacks are loaded with saturated fat, artificial colors and flavors, and chemicals to enhance the taste and shelf life. Potato chips are a favorite snack for many people but are often loaded with unhealthy ingredients. If you are health-conscious but sometimes crave the crunchy and salty treats, there are healthy alternatives. Soy chips may be a good replacement snack that is healthy and tasty. You can make your own soy chips with your choice of flavors in a few minutes.


Instructions


1. Pour the yeast and 1/2 cup of lukewarm milk in a bowl and let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes.








2. Pour 1/2 cup of milk and sugar in a small mixing bowl. Add a dash of salt and other seasonings of your choice, soft butter and 2 eggs. Mix all of the ingredients with a whisk or large spoon.


3. Mix the soybean powder and plain flour in a large bowl with your hands.


4. Pour the mixtures from steps 1 and 2 into the soybean powder and plain flour mixture. Allow the dough to rise for 2 hours in a covered, warm place.








5. Rub oil on your cookie sheets.


6. Roll dough with the rolling pin until flat and place the flat dough on the sheets.


7. Beat 1 egg with a whisk in a bowl. Dip the basting brush into the egg and brush the dough with the egg.


8. Bake the dough in the oven on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Allow it to cool and break the dough in pieces.
