Make Egg Noodles

Many people do not realize how easy it is to make egg noodles. Homemade egg noodles are a wonderful addition to stews and soups, and are delicious with butter or gravy when served as a side dish. Instructions


Preparing the Dough


1. Mix the flour and salt together in a large bowl.


2. Beat the two eggs and add them, along with the milk and butter, to the flour and salt mixture.


3. Knead the dough for about five minutes until it's smooth and place it in a bowl.


4. Cover the dough in the bowl with a clean towel or other cover.


5. Allow the dough to rest for 10 minutes in the covered bowl.








Making the Egg Noodles


6. Spread a very light coating of flour on the surface where you were going to roll the dough.


7. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/8 to 1/4 inch.


8. Cut the dough into the shapes and lengths that you want to for your recipe. It is easily to cut the dough using pizza cutter or a sharp knife.


9. Give the dough time to air dry before cooking.


10. Place your homemade egg noodles into a large pot filled with boiling salted water, and cook the egg noodles until they are al dente. The noodles can cook in as little as three minutes, depending upon their thickness.
