Make A Caramel Tart

Caramel tarts are often served at tea parties and birthday celebrations in Europe, and they're a joy to make and serve. It's a super-sweet and rich treat that can also makes for great comfort food on a chilly day. Enjoy yours with a cup of tea or coffee, and you'll be in a positive mood in no time! Here's make a delicious caramel tart.








Instructions


1. Prepare the eggs. Separate the eggs into two separate bowls, and set aside.


2. Make the caramel mixture. Mix together the brown sugar, golden syrup, butter, egg yolks, flour, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.


3. Let mixture bubble for 1 to 2 minute, then lower heat to simmer. Brown sugar should be dissolved completely.


4. Continue stirring caramel as it thickens, and lower heat to lowest setting for 1 to 2 minutes.


5. Pour the caramel into pastry shell. Carefully pour the caramel filling into the pastry shell and set aside.


6. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.


7. Prepare meringue topping. Beat the egg whites and white sugar on medium speed until soft peaks form.


8. Finish the tart. Spoon the meringue mixture onto the caramel until evenly spread over entire tart.


9. Bake the tart for 8 to 10 minutes until meringue is light brown on top.


10. Leave to cool on wire rack for at least 10 minutes before serving.








11. Cut into large slices, and enjoy!
