Make A Chicken Pita Pocket

Pita bread is a healthy alternative to other types of bread.

Pita bread is wheat-based, round and flat. Pita bread is one of the healthiest varieties of bread, as it contains large amounts of protein, iron and vitamin B and fewer calories than many other types of bread. Baking pita dough bubbles up in the center as the yeast rises, creating a pocket. Adding various ingredients to the pita's pocket makes for a delicious meal or snack. Making a chicken pita pocket is a healthy alternative to a deli sandwich.

Instructions

1. Cook and prepare one boneless, skinless chicken breast. Bake the chicken breasts for 20 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, let cool and cut into bite-sized pieces. Alternately, cut the raw chicken into small squares and cook with olive oil on a frying pan on the stove.

2. Cut the pita bread in half. Open the inner pocket and place chicken pieces inside.

3. Add extra ingredients as desired. Lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheese, broccoli, avocado, bean sprouts, dressings and seasonings all add flavor and substance to a chicken pita pocket. Pick and choose different combinations according to your tastes.
