Make Salmon Sushi With Mango Meat

Sushi has gone from an exotic food only found at upscale Japanese restaurants to an everyday treat that even kids enjoy. As any sushi aficionado knows, there are as many variety of sushi as there are types of sushi and fish in the sea. Try a delicious type of sushi by making salmon and mango sushi rolls with these directions.


Instructions


1. Cook some sushi rice according to the directions on the package. Be sure to use sushi rice, not long-grained American rice, that does not get sticky. Fresh cooked sushi rice works best when rolling sushi. Cool the rice completely before using.


2. Decide on which type of smoked salmon to use. There are many levels of smoked salmon quality. Norwegian type smoked salmon is a good choice.








3. Skin and cut a fresh mango into long strips.


4. Lay out a sushi-rolling mat. Place a piece of seaweed on the mat.


5. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over 3/4 of the seaweed with a wooden spoon. Wet the spoon while applying rice to keep it from sticking.


6. Grab the seaweed and flip it over on the mat.


7. Place a slice of salmon and a strip of mango on top of the seaweed.


8. Roll the sushi with the mat according to instructions provided with the mat.


9. Let the salmon mango sushi roll rest for a few minutes, and then cut it with a wet knife.
