Make Bbq Rice

BBQ rice is a treat for the senses. It is an unusual combination, but one that, once you have tried, you will likely want to have on a regular basis. This is especially fun to prepare for a bar-be-q when the vegetarians need some flavorful options, and it works in great for Fourth of July celebrations.

Instructions

1. Turn on a top burner of your stove to medium heat.

2. Get a large saucepan. Pour in six cups of water, and bring to a boil.

3. Add rice once the water is boiling. You want to do this carefully, and keep stirring from the moment you pour the rice into the water. Stir for 2 to 3 minutes.

4. Turn on a neighboring burner on to low heat. Move the saucepan of rice onto the lower heat. Cover, and let it sit for 15 minutes.

5. Put a small saucepan upon the burner that is on medium heat.

6. Pour BBQ sauce directly into the small saucepan.

7. Stir and cook the sauce until it starts to boil. Remove the sauce right away at the first bubbles, as you do not want to burn the sauce.

8. Take the rice up after 15 minutes have passed. Pour the rice into a large bowl, and pour the BBQ sauce on top. Start with just a bit of sauce, stir, and slowly add more. Be careful to add sauce in moderation, as you want to be careful to avoid drenching the rice with sauce. A little goes a long way!

9. Enjoy this as a side dish or a delicious BBQ vegetarian choice at festivities.
