The Uses For Whipped Cream

Whipped cream is placed on desserts for extra flavor and looks.

Whipped cream is a dessert topping made from cream, corn syrup, sugar, milk and several other ingredients. It is primarily used for food and drinks but can also be used for various other purposes, including several skin care and scalp treatments.

Desserts

Whipped cream is an ideal topping for many types of desserts. It is often used on pies by placing a dollop of cream on pieces of pumpkin, apple and blueberry pies. It can also be used on cookies, brownies, cupcakes and other desserts. It is the perfect topping for ice cream sundaes as well. People often dip fruit in whipped cream, such as strawberries and banana slices. It is also placed on gelatin and pudding.

Drinks

Heavy whipping cream, before it is whipped, is also a rich addition to a cup of coffee. Whipped, it is often topped onto hot chocolate. It is creamy, smooth and slightly richer than half and half. You can also place a scoop of whipped cream into drinks containing alcohol for a richer flavor.

Body Uses

For those who run out of shaving cream, whipped cream is a perfect substitute. It can be used on your face, legs or wherever you need to shave. It also serves well as a weekly hair conditioner. Place 1/2 cup whipped cream onto your hair and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse well and shampoo hair to remove the stickiness. Whipped cream also serves as a makeup remover. Run the cream over your face, rinse with warm water and blot dry. If you have a burn or cut on your body, blot some whipped cream on the wound, which often relieves the burning sensation.

Other Uses

Place a few drops of food coloring into whipped cream to change the look of the desserts you make. It also serves as a substitute for sour cream, by simply adding three or four drops of lemon juice to 1 cup of whipped cream. Let it sit for 30 minutes, then use it for recipes containing sour cream.
