Make A Frozen Banana Snack

Bananas are healthy and delicious, and they make a perfect hot-weather snack. Combine a banana with a few simple ingredients, pop it in the freezer, and on the next hot day, reach for a yummy frozen banana snack instead of a sugary Popsicle.

Instructions

1. Slice a ripe banana in half lengthwise, and smear some peanut butter on the cut halves. Either smooth or crunchy peanut butter will do. Put the banana back together and wrap it in plastic wrap. Freeze the peanut butter banana snack for at least three hours.

2. Cut a banana in half widthwise and stick a Popsicle stick into each half. Spread a light coating of peanut butter onto the banana, and roll the coated banana in your favorite breakfast cereal, granola, or some chopped nuts.

3. Peel a banana and cut it in half widthwise. Poke a Popsicle stick into the cut ends, and roll the banana in honey and granola. Freeze the banana snack for a few hours and enjoy.

4. Place four peeled bananas in a blender or food processor and add two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, two tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Blend the mixture until it's smooth, and freeze it in small bowls.

5. Melt some chocolate chips in the microwave, heating them just until they melt. Poke a Popsicle stick into the cut end of a halved banana and freeze for about 3 hours. Dip the frozen banana pieces in the melted chocolate, wrap them in foil, and re-freeze.
