Honey Mustard Dressing For Spinach Salad

Fresh spinach salad tastes delicious with honey mustard dressing.

Spinach salad, though delicious and healthy year-round, often shows up on restaurant menus in the summertime. The mild flavor of fresh spinach lends itself to a variety of fruits, vegetables and meats. Spinach salad made with chicken creates the perfect foundation for homemade honey mustard dressing. This simple-to-make dressing requires ingredients commonly found in the home and easily found at the grocery store. By varying the type of mustard used, you can make your honey mustard dressing sweet or spicy.

Instructions

1. Honey gives this dressing a sweet element.

Place 1 1/4 cup fat-free mayonnaise in a mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup each of honey and yellow mustard to the mayonnaise. Follow this with 1/3 cup apple-cider vinegar, 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper and 1 clove of minced garlic.

2. Whisk the ingredients until well-blended and creamy to evenly distribute the variety of flavors throughout the dressing mixture.

3. Scrape dressing out of the mixing bowl with a spatula.

Use a spatula to pour the dressing into a plastic container with lid. Store the honey mustard dressing in the refrigerator between uses. This recipe makes enough dressing for 10 1/4-cup servings.
