Make Chocolate Chip Waffles

If you're tired of the same old breakfast, wake up your taste buds with some delicious chocolate chip waffles. Or if you're in the mood for something a little sweet for dinner or dessert, this recipe can work by adding fruit, whipped cream or ice cream to the top. Grab your waffle iron, some ingredients and your appetite for this sweet treat.

Instructions

1. Preheat your waffle iron and spray with cooking spray or paint with melted butter. This can prevent the batter from sticking to the iron.

2. Whisk 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. baking powder and 1/8 tsp. salt in a large bowl. In another bowl, whisk 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 large egg and 1/4 cup melted butter together. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and combine. Make sure the mixture is well blended.

3. Beat the egg white with a mixer at high speed. Sprinkle in 1 tsp. sugar and continue to beat the egg white until peaks form. Fold this into your batter. Gently fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.

4. Pour enough batter on the waffle iron to cover each hole on the iron. The amount should depend upon how large the iron is. Keep in mind that batter should spread once the lid is closed.
