Make Taco Salad Shell

Taco salads are usually a fixture in restaurants, but by using a little bit of creativity, you can make them at home with ease. These taco salad shells are much healthier than the ones you'll find in restaurants; they're baked instead of fried, but just as delicious.

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to between 425 and 450 degrees F. Turn the bowl upside down and mold a large piece of aluminum foil around the bowl to make the taco salad shell shape.

2. Remove the aluminum foil and place it in a baking dish, with the round side facing up. At this point, feel free to continue to shape the foil if you like. The shape of the foil will determine the shape of your taco salad shell.

3. Place 1/4 cup of warm water in a bowl. Add 1/8 cup of oil. Feel free to use olive oil, vegetable oil or canola oil.

4. Dip the flour tortilla in the bowl with the oil and water, and then remove it quickly. Allow the excess liquid to drip from the tortilla.

5. Place the tortilla over the foil dome in the baking dish. Bake it for 5 to 6 minutes, or until it is golden-brown.

6. Repeat the process for each taco salad shell. If you have enough baking dishes, you can bake multiple shells at the same time.
